BACKGROUND
Since 1959, the Doylestown branch of AAUW has awarded scholarships to young women who are pursuing a four-year college or university degree. Since 2018, this branch has awarded scholarships to students living in Bucks County who have completed studies at Bucks County Community College and are transferring to a four-year institution to complete their undergraduate degree. Generally, scholarships are awarded to two BCCC graduate each year. One is awarded to a student just entering a four-year college/university as a junior. If that student completes her junior year with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, she is awarded a second scholarship to complete her studies. This means we award a scholarship to one student entering her junior year, and one entering their senior year. Students interested in applying should contact the Financial Aid office at Bucks County Community College early in the 2nd semester to learn more.
Starting in 2026, the Doylestown branch will also award a scholarship to a student at Delaware Valley University who is entering their sophomore/junior/senior year and majoring in STEM studies. Students interested should contact the Financial Aid office at Delaware Valley University.
Graduate Studies Grants and Fellowships are also available. Since 1888, AAUW has been one of the largest funders of women’s graduate education, investing in women who go on to change the world. Learn more ….
