In principle and in practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership.  There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization based on gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or class.

Membership is open to all college graduates, including men, who hold an associate (two year) degree or higher from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada.  Graduates holding an academic degree or diploma awarded by a qualified institution, such as a business college or hospital which is accredited, or has appropriate professional association approval, are also eligible.

A prospective member may attend two branch meetings.  Branch membership is required to be a member of an interest group. New members may join at any time.

The 2024-2025 membership dues are distributed as follows:

$72.00 National

$12.00 State

$16.00 Branch

            $100.00 AAUW Dues ($86 is tax deductible)

Other Membership Categories:

Paid Life Member – upon payment of the current National AAUW dues ($72.00) multiplied by 20, i.e., $1,440.00.  Paid life members continue to pay branch and state dues.

Fifty-year (Honorary) Life Member– has paid dues for at least 50 years.  State and branch dues are still required if you became a life member after 2020.

Student Member – Membership is FREE for students attending AAUW college/university member institutions, and staff/faculty membership is at the national rate of $72.

Undergraduates or degree-seeking graduates at non-AAUW college/university member institutions may join and renew at the student rate of $18.81 through graduation.
